Four Oaks Family & Children Services in Dubuque, IA seeks an entry-level full-time position in nonprofit social services. The role focuses on behavior support, daily living supervision, and therapeutic engagement with youth in behavioral health programs.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for a bachelor’s in human services. Valid driver’s license required; mental health experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
• Experience with children in a mental health setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior.
• Intervene proactively to prevent problems from escalating.
• Use behavior management techniques and de-escalation training.
• Help clients develop insight into their behaviors and self-correct.
• Understand client impact on actions and use team feedback to improve interventions.
• Establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust and respect.
• Provide daily living supervision and treatment interventions.
• Safely transport youth to activities and community resources.
• Participate in team reviews of case progress and plan next steps.

What you will do?

• Provide consistent, individualized reinforcement to client behavior, using daily issues to teach and reinforce adaptive behaviors.
• Utilize a proactive/preventive method of intercepting problems to neutralize them before they escal...
• Strategically utilize identified behavior management techniques and other de-escalation training to assist clients in developing appropriate behaviors.
• Assist clients in developing insight into their behaviors so that they learn to self-identify and self correct.
• Understand the impact of client’s behaviors on their own actions/reactions in the workplace and utilizes team feedback to enhance the effectiveness of their interventions.
• Understand the population and is aware of individualized treatment plan.
• Provide daily living supervision and treatment intervention
• Establish a therapeutic relationship with the client based on trust & respect.
• Evaluate the impact of behavioral, group treatment, and life-space interventions and provides direction/feedback.
• Assure consistent, ongoing, and timely provision for basic client needs.
• Safely transport youth to/from program activities and community resources monitoring behaviors and following agency transportation protocols.
• Effectively participates in team to review case progress and provide best programming

Qualifications & Program InformationWhat you need:

To qualify you must be at least 21 years of age and possess a highschool dilploma. A Bachelor's degree in a human services or a related field of study. is preferred but not required. Previous experience in working with children in a mental health setting is preferred but, not required. Additional requirements include:
