Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with rail, track material (OTM), switches, and bridge materials.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, service, and repair equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
  • Use welding and cutting tools to complete equipment repairs and maintenance.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As a Superior Tie & Timber(ST&T) Maintenance Technician, you’ll play an important role in keeping equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this hands‑on role, you’ll use your mechanical skills to maintain, service, and repair equipment, including performing welding and cutting work, inspecting and replacing key components such as engines, tires, and hydraulic cylinders, and servicing engines and fluids as needed. The selected candidate will help create a safe and productive work environment by following established safety procedures and supporting the well‑being of fellow team members, plant workers, and equipment operators.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience is considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of rail, other track material (OTM), switches, and bridge materials, with the ability to sort, stack, store, and handle materials appropriately
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of warehouse and/or heavy construction equipment
  • Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures
