PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Lead a skilled team that works on track construction projects while driving safety, service, and productivity. Railway experience is preferred but 5+ years in thermite or flash butt welding is also ideal. A solid understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBA) is essential for managing workflows effectively, and candidates with experience in construction or manufacturing management are encouraged to apply.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Mentor an average of 12 direct reports to improve efficiency and hold accountability when needed
Review planned capital work, confirm material, and execution requirements
Ensure CPKC regulatory compliance for respective track projects
Develop and implement work processes and changes that achieve continuous improvement
Promote and ensure adherence to CPKC policies, safety practices, and procedures across all team members, fostering a culture of safety and accountability
Evaluate planned capital work, validate material readiness, and confirm execution strategies to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational objectives

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or general equivalency
Valid driver’s license
Minimum of 2 years’ track experience
100% travel (expenses covered by CPKC), territory from St. Paul, MN to Bensenville, IL
Capability to lead a project plan/schedule
Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and inspire teams to achieve goals
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
