Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a Superintendent for water and wastewater construction on projects across the South Shore and Cape Cod in Barnstable, MA. The role leads field operations, coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, and safety to deliver municipal infrastructure on time and within spec.

The ideal candidate has strong field leadership in municipal construction, familiarity with treatment facilities, and ability to work with towns, engineers, and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Experience as Superintendent or field leadership in water/wastewater or municipal construction.
• Familiarity with treatment facility construction preferred.
• Experience with municipalities, engineers, inspectors.
• Ability to read plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 and Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to regional project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations from mobilization through closeout.
• Supervise field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment.
• Coordinate civil, concrete, mechanical, electrical, piping, and process-related scopes.
• Develop short-term schedules and maintain project milestones.
• Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract requirements.
• Prepare RFIs and assist with change orders, takeoffs, and cost control.
• Coordinate material purchasing, deliveries, site logistics, and workforce needs.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive jobsite.
• Communicate with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, municipalities, and owners.
• Track progress, manpower, production, and changing field conditions.
• Support equipment installation, testing, start-up, commissioning, and closeout.
• Mentor Foremen, Assistant Superintendents, and field personnel.

Role Overview
An established infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on water, wastewater, and municipal construction projects across the South Shore and Cape Cod.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating crews, subcontractors, materials, equipment, safety, quality, and daily production. The ideal candidate will have experience with treatment plants, pump stations, or similar municipal infrastructure. Candidates with strong experience working directly with towns, public agencies, engineers, and inspectors will also be considered.

• Superintendent or field leadership experience in water/wastewater, pump stations, utilities, heavy civil, or municipal construction
• Familiarity with treatment facility construction or renovation is strongly preferred
• Experience working with municipalities, public agencies, engineers, and inspectors
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
• Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, safety, scheduling, and quality control
• Ability to lead crews and coordinate multiple subcontractors on active projects
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• OSHA 10 certification required; OSHA 30 and Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License are preferred
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to regional project sites
