Job summary

Start Up Confidential is seeking a Traffic Control Superintendent/Operations Leader to manage and develop a large field operation in the Pacific Northwest or Northeast, with Pennsylvania preferred. You will lead 20–30+ crews, strengthen contractor and municipal relationships, and target new work while prioritizing safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes ownership of execution, people development, and growth, not just day-to-day scheduling. Travel and storm response are expected.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–7+ years of traffic control experience in field leadership roles.
• Proven ability to manage large crews and grow teams.
• Strong knowledge of work-zone setups, traffic control plans, and safety protocols.
• TCT and TCS certifications and other market-specific credentials are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and support an operation of 20-30+ traffic control crews.
• Develop foremen, crew leaders, and field personnel to grow the operation.
• Oversee work-zone setups, traffic control plan implementation, equipment readiness, and daily field performance.
• Conduct safety meetings and reinforce compliance with traffic control requirements.
• Build lasting relationships with contractors, utilities, municipalities, and other customers.
• Identify opportunities for additional work and respond to customer needs to grow the business.
• Resolve field and staffing challenges quickly, including storm response.

Are you a traffic control leader who can do more than keep crews moving? We're looking for someone who can lead a large field operation, develop supervisors and crews, strengthen customer relationships, and help win new work.

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced General Foreman or above on behalf of a national construction support services organization. Opportunities are available in the Pacific Northwest and Pennsylvania.

What you'll do

• Lead, schedule, and support an operation of approximately 20-30+ traffic control crews.
• Develop foremen, crew leaders, and field personnel while helping the operation grow.
• Oversee work-zone setups, traffic control plan implementation, equipment readiness, and daily field performance.
• Conduct safety meetings and reinforce compliance with applicable traffic control requirements.
• Build lasting relationships with contractors, utilities, municipalities, and other customers.
• Identify opportunities for additional work, respond to customer needs, and partner with leadership to grow the business.
• Solve field and staffing challenges quickly, including during storm response and other urgent assignments.

What you'll bring

• Approximately 5-7+ years of traffic control experience, including substantial field leadership experience.
• A track record of managing large numbers of crews and growing teams.
• Strong knowledge of traffic control plans, work-zone setup, scheduling, and field safety.
• TCT and TCS certifications and other credentials required for the assigned market.
• The ability to earn customer trust and turn strong service into repeat and new business.
• A valid driver's license and flexibility for travel, early starts, nights, weekends, and storm-related work as needed.
