Job summary

BEARConstruction is seeking a Superintendent for its Renewable Energy Division to lead field activities across multiple scopes, focusing on safety, quality, and on-time schedule execution. The role works closely with the project manager, the owner's team, and trade partners in a fast-paced environment.

You will manage subcontractors across civil, electrical, mechanical scopes; oversee ground-mount solar and tracking systems; enforce daily field execution, look-aheads, and proactive issue

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a construction Superintendent preferred.
• Field experience, tradeschool, or college degree (Construction Management/Engineering preferred).
• Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction sites.
• Familiarity with MS Office; comfortable using documentation and coordination tools.
• Procore and scheduling software awareness.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills; ability to lead and inspire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee field leadership and coordination across multiple scopes.
• Develop phasing plans and look-aheads; communicate progress to project team.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and quality on site; monitor QA/QC and address deficiencies.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, owners, and vendors; provide clear written documentation.
• Manage documentation, safety records, schedules, and punch lists.

TheSuperintendent(RenewableEnergyDivision)isresponsibleformonitoringprojectsthroughtheirfulllifecyclewithastrongfocusonsafety,quality,fieldleadership,scheduleexecution,documentation,andcommunication.Thisroleworkscloselywiththeprojectmanager/projectteamandtheowner’steam,andmustbehighlyorganized,proactive,andabletoperforminafast-pacedenvironment.

RenewableEnergyprojectsrequirestrongfieldleadershipacrossmultiplescopesandfast-movingschedules,oftenincluding:

• Oversightofsubcontractorsacrosscivil,electrical,mechanical,andtestingscopes
• Experiencewithground-mountsolarandcommonsystemsincludingfixedtiltandtrackersystems
• Strongdailyfieldexecutionpracticesincludinglook-aheads,dailyreporting,andproactiveissueresolution
• Solar-specificsafetyexposure,includingPPEconsiderationsnotedfor“site-specificwork(i.e.,solar)”andtheneedforhearingprotectionwhererenewableenergymechanismscreatehazards
• HeightenedfocusonfallprotectionrequirementsforrooftopPVenvironmentswhereapplicable(includingrequiredsetbacksanddefinedfallprotectionapproachesnearroofedges)

KeyResponsibilities

FieldLeadership,Planning&Schedule

• Developphasingplansandlook-aheadscheduleswhilecommunicatingprogressupdatestotheprojectteamandstakeholders.
• Trackprojectprogressandmaintainschedulesonaregularbasis.
• Coordinateallconstructionactivitieswithtradepartnersandstakeholderstofacilitatecompletionoftheproject.
• OwndailyfieldexecutionandcoordinationwiththePMteam;proactivelysurfacerisks,constraints,andstaffing/scheduleneeds.

Safety,Cleanliness&Quality

• Organizeandmaintainasafe,clean,andorderlyprojectsiteandworkingenvironment.
• Enforcesitesafetyrequirementsandensurecompliancewithapplicablesafety/healthstandards.
• Monitorinstalledworkforquality;enforcequalitycontrolplansandcorrectdeficienciesquickly.
• Applysolar-awarePPEpracticesandhazardcontrolswhereworkmayinvolvesolar-specificrisks.

Communication&StakeholderManagement

• ActasaliaisonforBEARandprojectownersonsiteinaprofessionalmanner.
• CollaborateandcommunicateclearlyandconciselywithBEARprojectteam,owners,architect/engineer,tradepartners,subcontractors,andsuppliers.
• Provideclearwrittendocumentationtoallpartiesinvolvedontheproject.

Documentation&Controls(CriticalinRenewableEnergyDelivery)

• Readandunderstandprojectdocumentsincludingdrawings,shopdrawings,specifications,productdatasheets,andschedules.
• Manage,track,anddocumentprojectactivitiesincludingsafety,schedules,dailyreports,tradehours,materialdeliverytracking,RFIs/submittalsstatus,photodocumentation,changedocumentation,andpunchlistitems.
• Utilizeprojectdocumentationtools(experiencewithtoolslikeExcel/Procore/SmartsheethasbeennotedinBEARRenewableEnergysuperintendentscreening).
• Understandtheimportanceofproperaccountingphasecodesandassigningtime.
• Maintainstrongphotodocumentationpractices.

RenewableEnergyFieldExecutionSupport(Multi-scopecoordination)

• Coordinatesubcontractorsandworkflowstomaintainqualityandpaceofworkacrossscopes.
• SupportQC,layout/verification,inspections,andmaterialverificationaspartofdailyexecutionexpectations.

Materials,Equipment,andSiteLogistics

• Manageequipmentandmaterialsasrequired;trackdeliveriesandstaging.
• Coordinateactivitieswithlocalpermitagenciesasneeded.
• Resolveon-siteissuesandemergenciesquicklyandeffectively.

Qualifications

• PreviousexperienceasaconstructionSuperintendentpreferred.
• Fieldexperience,tradeschool,orcollegedegree(ConstructionManagement/Engineeringpreferred).
• Knowledgeoflocalquality,safety,andhealthguidelinesforconstructionjobsites.

• Thisisafull-timefieldrolesupportingactiverenewableenergyprojects.
• BEAR’ssuperintendentoffertemplatereferencesstandardfieldhoursasgenerally7:00AM–4:00PM(orasmutuallyagreed),withflexibilityforprojectprioritiesandpotentialadditionalhours/weekends.
