Job summary

Polk Mechanical Company is seeking a skilled Piping Superintendent to lead all piping activities on commercial construction sites. You will supervise crews, interpret blueprints, ensure workmanship quality, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

This role requires extensive piping system knowledge (domestic water, sanitary, medical gas), strong leadership, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of verifiable experience in the plumbing/piping trade.
• Minimum 4 years of proven supervisory experience in commercial mechanical construction.
• In-depth knowledge of piping systems (domestic water, sanitary, and medical gas).
• Strong ability to read and interpret piping blueprints and specifications.
• OSHA-30 certification required (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all piping installation activities on commercial construction projects
• Interpret piping blueprints, specifications, and project documents to ensure proper installation and system performance
• Ensure all work complies with local codes, project requirements, and safety standards
• Collaborate closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and other trades to streamline workflow and avoid conflicts
• Develop and maintain detailed work schedules, track progress, and adjust manpower as needed
• Conduct regular inspections of ongoing work to uphold quality assurance and safety compliance
• Monitor labor productivity and material usage to control costs and meet project deadlines
• Lead daily safety meetings and ensure strict adherence to job site safety protocols
