Job Title: Superintendent of Construction

Job Description

The Superintendent of Construction will oversee the execution of a Pharma Project in Trenton/Ewing, ensuring the quality and timely completion of construction tasks. This role involves generating schedules, monitoring field operations, managing subcontractor scopes, supervising teams, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Generate the primary and two-week look-ahead schedules and provide weekly updates.
• Monitor the performance of field operations and assist in primary subcontractor scopes.
• Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure project objectives are met.
• Manage quality control and ensure job site safety and security.
• Review submittals, prepare daily reports, and conduct weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Maintain as-built drawings and direct project close-out procedures.
• Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of the project and arrange assignments of project personnel.
• Identify changes in scope or differing conditions and assist the Project Manager in securing appropriate change orders for project cost and time adjustments.
• Enforce company policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risks related to subcontractor and vendor performance.
  
  

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience leading construction projects as a Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Experience with wood frame construction projects.
• Ability to read blueprints and site safety regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ProCore.
• Ability to manage a team, resolve disputes, and foresee potential cost or schedule issues.
  
  

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with commercial construction and ground-up fit-out projects.
• Understanding of contracts and ability to ensure compliance.
• Background in multi-family or assisted living construction is preferred.
  
  

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily on-site at projects throughout New Jersey, focusing on clean rooms and lab fit-out work within a 25,000 sqft space. The position offers permanent status after a probationary period, with benefits including employer contributions close to 80%, a 401K match of 5-7% annually, 19 days of PTO (including 2 weeks PTO, 3 personal days, and 5 holidays), and a performance bonus of 5-10% annually.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
