Job summary

Michels Construction, Inc. Marine Operations seeks a Superintendent to coordinate field schedules and resources for complex marine construction projects. You will ensure safety processes, manage materials and tooling, and verify QA/QC and as-built documentation while collaborating with client meetings and the Project Manager.

You will lead Foremen and trade staff, drive safe and efficient project execution, and travel to onsite locations for long-term projects across the region.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of Marine Construction experience.
• Hydraulic Dredging experience; environmental dredging is a plus.
• 3+ years of Foreman or lead hand experience.
• Valid driver license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate schedules and resources for field operations.
• Communicate scope to Foremen and colleagues; ensure safety processes (JSAs, inspections) are completed.
• Attend client meetings and manage materials and tooling needs; verify daily QA/QC and as-built documentation.
• Review time and field reports and work closely with the Project Manager.
• Help develop Foremen and trade staff to improve execution of projects.
• Contribute to safe, efficient, and consistent project delivery.

The Superintendent, Marine Construction role supports field operations by coordinating schedules and resources, communicating scope to Foremen, and ensuring safety processes like JSAs and inspections are completed. Responsibilities include attending client meetings, managing materials and tooling needs, verifying daily QA/QC and as-built documentation, reviewing time and field reports, and working closely with the Project Manager. This position also helps develop Foremen and trade staff while contributing to efficient, safe, and consistent project execution.

What it takes:

• 8-10 years of Marine Construction Experience
• 8+ years of Hydraulic Dredging experience, Environmental Dredging is a plus
• 3+ years of previous Foreman experience
• Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
• Ability to travel and commit to long term onsite projects
