Job summary

Michels Construction, Inc. seeks a Marine Construction Superintendent to coordinate field operations, manage materials and tools, and ensure safety and QA/QC on long-term projects. You will communicate scope to Foremen, attend client meetings, and collaborate with the Project Manager to drive safe, efficient execution.

The role requires extensive experience in marine construction and hydraulic dredging, plus the ability to travel to on-site assignments and lead trade staff and foremen.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of Marine Construction Experience.
• 8+ years of Hydraulic Dredging experience; Environmental Dredging is a plus.
• 3+ years of previous Foreman experience.
• Must possess a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel and commit to long term onsite projects.

Responsibilities

• Attend client meetings and coordinate schedules and resources.
• Communicate scope to Foremen and ensure safety processes are followed.
• Manage materials and tooling needs and verify daily QA/QC and as-built docs.
• Review time and field reports and collaborate with the Project Manager.
• Develop Foremen and trade staff to support efficient project execution.

The Superintendent, Marine Construction role supports field operations by coordinating schedules and resources, communicating scope to Foremen, and ensuring safety processes like JSAs and inspections are completed. Responsibilities include attending client meetings, managing materials and tooling needs, verifying daily QA/QC and as‑built documentation, reviewing time and field reports, and working closely with the Project Manager. This position also helps develop Foremen and trade staff while contributing to efficient, safe, and consistent project execution.
