Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities for highly technical life science projects in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years of superintendent experience, strong leadership, and a solid background in quality control and safety.

You will oversee subcontractors, coordinate site activities, and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while meeting all specifications.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise on-site personnel, subcontractors, and consultants for quality work.
• Implement and maintain strict quality control procedures and take corrective action as needed.
• Communicate with clients, architects, engineers, and team members about status and potential issues.
• Provide strong leadership to promote teamwork and a safe, compliant work environment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a secure job site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings with detailed reporting.
• Resolve on-site conflicts using negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Assess project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Superintendent to lead our projects within New Jersey. This role is essential in managing all on-site construction activities for complex, high-profile highly technical projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities for life science projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications.
• Coordinate and supervise the work of all on-site personnel, including subcontractors and consultants, to ensure high-quality work and adherence to project plans.
• Implement and maintain strict quality control procedures, identifying any issues or discrepancies and taking corrective action as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and team members, to ensure clear understanding of project status and any potential issues or delays.
• Provide strong leadership to the project team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and practices, maintaining a safe and secure work environment at all times.
• Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, providing detailed reports and updates to project management.
• Solve any on-site problems or conflicts, using strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Continually assess and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, with specific experience in life science or other technical projects.
• Proven experience in quality control, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading and managing teams to successful project completion.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, with specific knowledge of life science facilities.
• Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Proficient in the use of construction management software and technology.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
