Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company is seeking a Field Superintendent to lead daily field operations on projects up to $20M, ensuring safety, quality and schedule adherence.

You will coordinate subcontractors, manage project schedules, handle field documentation and 3D coordination with the virtual construction team, while upholding Barnhill's values and client relationships.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent; training and work experience considered
• Minimum 5 years of field supervision experience
• Must be 21 years old and hold a NC driver's license
• Demonstrated ability to lead field teams and manage schedules and safety compliance

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field operations for projects up to $20M, ensuring safety and productivity
• Own the project schedule and coordinate subcontractors and resources
• Manage contract requirements, field documentation, punch lists, and change communications
• Lead 3D field coordination with the virtual construction team to ensure model-aligned work
• Assist in pre-construction planning, constructability reviews, and site logistics
• Build strong relationships across Barnhill divisions and with clients
• Pursue ongoing training to increase competencies

Job Description:

Lead, direct and oversee the safe and effective daily field operation of a project up to $20M, or provide field operation support on larger, more complex projects. Take action as needed to ensure project goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision and values of Barnhill Contracting Company.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for daily implementation and maintenance of clean and safe work site and to motivate field operations teams to work to their highest efficiency to exceed project requirements, quality control and productivity.
• Take ownership of the overall project schedule including assisting in schedule development and schedule updates. Lead and implement the schedule by coordinating subcontractors and resources.
• Support the management of contract requirements and scopes of work. Field documentation, punch-list, close-out, and communication of contract/scope changes with project manager.
• Extensive involvement in the 3D field coordination of trades with the virtual construction team. Ensure all work is installed per the coordinated 3D model
• Assist in the planning and project set up during the pre-construction phase, including constructability, schedule, scopes of work and site logistics.
• Promote and Support good internal and external relationships throughout all divisions and departments of Barnhill Contracting Company, with clients and the public
• Participates in training opportunities to increase competencies.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

• High school degree or equivalent combination of training and work experience preferred.
• 5 years of field supervision
• Must be 21 years old
• NC Drivers License
