Job summary

Barnhill Contracting Company in the Southeast is seeking a bulldozer operator to support finish or fine grade work on private and DOT projects.

Responsibilities include operating a bulldozer within assigned areas, performing pre- and post-shift walk-around inspections, and utilizing GPS grade stakes. A strong safety record and reliability are essential.

Experience of 2–5 years is preferred; training with less experience will be considered for motivated candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience of 2 to 5 years in finish or fine grade operation with a bulldozer.
• Will consider training with less experience for a candidate that has potential.
• Ability to understand grade stakes and a knowledge of GPS operations.
• Ability to abide by strict, but necessary, safety rules and policies.
• Must be a reliable and trustworthy individual that will be a team player.
• Maintain a good attendance and safety record.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:

Occasional standing and walking required. Ability to work long periods of time while sitting in the operator`s station. Ability to operate equipment at recommended speeds and peaks of operation. Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set. Visual activity – ability to develop a mental picture of the finish product and then execute the necessary skills to productively complete each required task.
