About Us:The City of Glendale's Transportation Department works to ensure safe and efficient circulation of vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic, to minimize pollutant air emissions and to promote economic development throughout the City.

The Role:The Intelligent Transportation Systems Superintendent manages the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)Division. Develops, updates and monitors traffic signal timing plans. Implement citywide coordination plans using the centralized traffic signal system software and Intelligent Transportation Systems infrastructure. Coordinates dissemination of travel information to the public utilizing dynamic message signs (DMS) and other media. Manages the daily operation of the Traffic Management Center (TMC). Also manages the TMC operations during sporting and non-sporting events in the city’s Sports and Entertainment District.

The ideal candidate for the role will have an Associate Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and five years of relevant work experience in traffic signal systems such as Intelligent Transportation Systems and/or traffic signal timing, including two years of lead or supervisory experience.

Salary:This position is a Grade 412 with an annual salary between $84,571.00-$126,857.00

Holiday, Vacation, And Sick Leave

Regular status position’s offer:

• The City of Glendale observes 10.5 holidays per year, and full-time employees are also granted an additional 12 hours of holiday special leave per calendar year to celebrate their cultural or religious holidays.
• Vacation leave accrues at 5.33 hours per pay period (138 hours per year), and increases to 6.12 hours after 5 years, and to 7.6 hours after 10 years of service.
• Sick leave accrues at 4.4 hours per pay period (114 hours per year).

• This position participates in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
