SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent II responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline. The role also involves developing and strengthening customer relationships through excellent service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and implement activities to ensure materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule.
- Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability.
- Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies.
- Develop and manage project schedules, including three- and six-week look-ahead schedules.
- Create a site logistics plan and oversee the use of Mortenson tools and equipment.
- Collaborate with project partner superintendents.
- Conduct on-site orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project meetings.
- Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; handle hiring, transfers, and terminations as needed.
- Coach and mentor team members, including assistant superintendents and craft workers.
- Ensure proper coding of work hours, track progress, and monitor productivity.
- Manage craft team training and career development discussions.
- Build relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
- Lead by example, provide coaching and feedback, and manage performance.
- Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance at a high level.
- Identify and address unfavorable working conditions and opportunities for process improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years of trade experience.
- Minimum of 8 years in construction management or related field.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to manage development to project closeout for multiple complex projects.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of construction law and business practices.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office.
- Positive attitude with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to interpret and communicate company policies.
- Effective listening and communication skills, open to diverse input.
- Willingness to travel up to 100%.

COMPENSATION
The base pay range is $126,300 to $189,500, with higher ranges for certain locations. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and internal equity. The role is eligible for an incentive plan.
