Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a Minnesota-based commercial general contractor to hire a Superintendent. This role oversees cradle-to-grave delivery of ground-up, public and private projects, ensuring safety and quality on site.

The successful candidate will mentor junior staff, coordinate subcontractors, manage schedules, and maintain detailed records while communicating with owners and project teams. Procore experience and strong multi-project leadership are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a commercial general contractor role.
• Experience delivering cradle-to-grave projects.
• Ground-up project exposure preferred.
• Procore experience strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop on-the-job teams including Superintendents, as well as project engineers.
• Craft a detailed work sequence and schedule aligned with contract documents.
• Coordinate with subcontractors via regular meetings and daily communications.
• Identify design or scheduling issues early and secure swift resolutions.
• Master the Prime Contract, subcontracts, drawings, and specs for compliance.
• Enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards on all sites.
• Maintain thorough records: RFI logs, change orders, submittals, and reports.
• Engage owners, tenants, construction managers, and team members daily for coordinated progress.

Description

• Mentor and Develop Talent: Deliver robust on-the-job training for Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, and Project/Office Engineers while actively championing continuous staff development.
• Strategic Work Planning: Craft a detailed work sequence and project schedule, orchestrating every phase to ensure seamless alignment with contract documents.
• Subcontractor Coordination: Conduct regular meetings and maintain daily communications with construction subcontractors to monitor progress, adjust schedules, and manage material deliveries.
• Proactive Issue Resolution: Identify potential design discrepancies, scheduling challenges, and other project-specific issues early, securing swift and effective resolutions.
• Contract Mastery: Gain and maintain an in-depth understanding of the Prime Contract, all subcontracts, project drawings, and specifications to ensure meticulous compliance.
• Safety Enforcement: Uphold and enforce stringent construction safety protocols, ensuring that job sites consistently meet or exceed OSHA standards.
• Rigorous Documentation: Keep comprehensive project records, including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal packages, to promote transparency and accountability.
• Stakeholder Communication: Engage daily with owners, tenant representatives, construction managers, fellow superintendents, and project coordinators to ensure coordinated progress toward project completion.

Profile

The successful Superintendent will have:

• 5+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor
• Experience managing projects cradle-to-grave
• Background in ground-up projects preferred
• Procore experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once
