Job summary

Genesis Distribution is seeking a superintendent for our golf course to oversee daily operations and uphold premier playing conditions. The role entails supervising grounds staff, managing irrigation and fertilization, and coordinating with vendors and contractors to maintain greens, fairways, tees and bunkers.

The position requires 3+ years in golf course maintenance, a high school diploma, and ideally a bachelor’s in turf management or related field. It is a full-time, year-round on-site role.

Job description

This position will quickly become a superintendent role, for the right individual. The current responsibilities are as follows:

Ensuring high quality playing conditions. This role involves the daily operations, supervising grounds staff, overseeing the upkeep of the greens, fairways, tees, bunkers and roughs. This position will also implement the maintenance programs, monitor turf-health, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This position is full-time and year-round.

Reports to: Golf Course Owner.

Key responsibilities:

Course Maintenance and Agronomy

• Assist in planning and executing the maintenance of greens, fairways, tees and roughs
• Monitor turf conditions, ensuring proper irrigation, mowing, fertilization and pest control.
• Identify turf health concerns, including diseases, pest, and invasive species and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental best practices and sustainability.

Grounds Supervising

• Supervise and provide guidance on groundskeeping
• Scheduling and assigning task
• Training – on going and new employees

Equipment and Facilities Management

• Assist in maintaining irrigation system, tools, and course equipment
• Monitor inventory and order necessary fertilizers and pesticides
• Maintain clean environment, organized and operating efficiently

Administrative and Budget Assistance

• Maintain records of turf treatments – schedule, pesticides applications
• Input on course conditions, maintenance needs and improvement projects

Course Improvement and Special Projects

• Support in planning and executing course projects
• Keeping up with industry trends
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and consultants as needed
