Job summary

Brinkman Construction seeks an experienced superintendent to lead ground-up projects across multifamily, commercial, medical, and industrial sectors. You will own master schedules, guide QA/QC, and enforce safety while coordinating with permit entities and subcontractors.

You will mentor teams, manage costs, and ensure on-time closeout with accurate As-Builts. A valid driver’s license and a strong track record in self-directed project delivery are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction management experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience in a lead superintendent role across multiple ground-up project types including multifamily, general commercial, medical, manufacturing, and industrial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and project management tools.
• Thorough understanding of contract documents (drawings, specs, contracts).
• Ability to manage all aspects of a project with limited oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead job-site activities and maintain master schedules and 4-week lookahead schedules.
• Oversee QA/QC programs to ensure high quality standards.
• Enforce jobsite safety standards and oversee SWMP.
• Coordinate permitting, inspections, and testing with authorities and third parties.
• Ensure subcontractors meet contractual obligations and manage risk.
• Mentor and coach direct reports to build bench strength.
• Lead preconstruction and on-site coordination meetings with subs.
• Monitor field labor and equipment vs budget and report cost projections.
• Close out projects with complete permits and As-Builts.

About the role

The Superintendent provides job-site leadership necessary for successful project completion for projects assigned.

Essential Functions

• Create and maintain Master Schedule and 4-week look ahead schedules.
• Provide supervision of quality standards and implement the QA/QC Program to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
• Understand and hold others accountable for Jobsite Safety Standards.
• Oversee the Storm Water Management program.
• Coordinate with all jurisdictional permitting and inspection entities and third-party testing agencies.
• Understand and enforce the complete execution of all subcontractors’ contractual obligations.
• Train and mentor direct reports to create leverage and opportunities for others without risking successful project outcomes.
• Expected to have enough experience and depth of knowledge in managing construction projects to be the driving force behind providing solutions to problems and capable of unifying key team members to advance the solution.
• Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors prior to their starting work.
• Conduct weekly on-site subcontractor coordination meetings, safety meetings, and daily safety inspections.
• Ensure projects close out effectively and all permits are closed.
• Maintain As-Built drawings throughout the duration of each project. Submit accurate As-Built drawings at the completion of each project.
• Monitor field labor and equipment utilization, compare to budget, and provide cost projections to the Project Manager during monthly Project Cost Report reviews.

Requirements

Education and Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of construction management experience with a General Contractor.
• Experience in a lead superintendent role with a variety of ground-up product types – including multifamily, general commercial, medical, manufacturing, and industrial.
• Proficiency using Microsoft suite of applications, construction scheduling software, and project management applications.
• Have a complete understanding of all contract documents such as drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Competent in management of all aspects of a construction project on a stand-alone basis with only additional support from upper management on an infrequent basis.
• Current driver’s license which has been valid for the past 12 consecutive months.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, First Aid / CPR, and SWMP Certifications preferred but not required.

Salary

Range of $90,000 to $135,000 annually. Salary is commensurate with technical skills and experience.
