We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Sr. Superintendent to join our team in the commercial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a variety of sectors including Retail, Restaurant, Life Science, Healthcare, Class A Office, Office, Defense, Industrial, TI, and Ground Up. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and manage all aspects of the construction project, ensuring it is completed on-time and within budget, while meeting the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all stages of project life cycle, managing construction activities from planning to implementation.
• Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
• Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Review work progress on a daily basis, addressing any issues that arise promptly and efficiently.
• Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction and building specialists.
• Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status, daily reports, estimates, and deliverables.
• Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses.
• Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks, ensuring all safety regulations are adhered to.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site, conducting regular site inspections.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior supervisory role within the construction industry.
• Proven experience in the Retail, Restaurant, Life Science, Healthcare, Class A Office, Office, Defense, Industrial, TI, and Ground Up sectors.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods.
• Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
• Competent in conflict and crisis management.
• Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software packages.
• BSc/BA in engineering, building science, or relevant field. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
• Ability to plan and see the “big picture”, with excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, with the ability to learn new software quickly and efficiently.
