Job description

About Us:

At Marksmen General Contractors, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional construction projects, powered by our team of dedicated professionals. As a recognized leader in the San Antonio area, we provide innovative solutions for complex construction challenges, building strong relationships with our clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders. We are looking for a Superintendent to join our dynamic team and help drive the construction process to new heights of excellence.

Our Mission:

Redefine the construction experience by executing projects with accuracy, clarity and integrity.

Our Vision:

Honor God through our work by doing everything to the best of our ability with a spirit of gratitude and a heart of service.

Our Core Values:

Better Today Than Yesterday

We believe in owning up to our mistakes, embracing continual improvement as a team, and recognizing that growth is a process, not a destination; through collaboration, feedback, and consistent habits, we strive to be better every day.

More Than a Business, More Than a Client

Dedication to going beyond the transactional to foster genuine relationships. We strive to exceed expectations, whether it’s through offering unwavering support to our team or going the extra mile for our clients. By prioritizing these relationships and taking the initiative to do more, we cultivate an environment where success thrives and partnerships flourish.

Integrity is Demanded. Excellence is Celebrated.

We insist on integrity as fundamental to who we are; the high road is not optional, but the only choice. Integrity is binary – you either have it or you don’t. But integrity alone isn’t enough; excellence matters too. Recognizing and rewarding both integrity and excellence fosters purpose in our work.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of construction projects, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. Lead the coordination and planning of project milestones, addressing potential delays and adjusting schedules as necessary.
  • Preconstruction & Preinstallation: Actively participate in preconstruction and preinstallation meetings to ensure thorough planning and coordination. Support the verification of material quantities through take-offs, and assist in the preparation of RFIs with the Project Manager (PM).
  • Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Oversee QA/QC efforts by verifying elevations, benchmarks, and layout control lines. Ensure all work is in compliance with plans, specifications, and local codes.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Lead and conduct weekly subcontractor meetings to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and safety standards. Ensure subcontractors follow safety, quality, and performance guidelines, and address any issues or delays.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive daily logs, document all project activities, and verify timecards for accuracy. Complete Weekly Safety Inspections, Basic ADA Inspections, and hazard correction documentation. Conduct photo documentation and track deficiency corrections from safety inspections.
  • Inspection Coordination: Coordinate and schedule all OAC (Owner, Architect, Contractor) meetings and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) inspections/observations, ensuring compliance and documenting all necessary corrections.
  • Site Mobilization & Demobilization: Oversee the mobilization and de-mobilization of the project site, ensuring proper site setup and removal of equipment, materials, and personnel as required.
  • Punchlist Management: Administer the prepunch and punch list process, ensuring all items are completed and documented prior to project closeout.
  • Resource Management: Plan and manage hourly resource needs. Verify PR scopes, and ensure that materials are accurately tracked and delivered on time.
  • Mentorship & Team Development: Provide mentorship to team members, fostering growth and collaboration. Participate in superintendent meetings and contribute to the sharing of best practices across teams.
  • Site Security & Sanitation: Ensure the safety and security of the construction site by managing site access, equipment security, and overall site maintenance. Maintain proper sanitation, including restroom facilities and general site cleanliness.
  • Compliance & Administrative Tasks: Assist with the verification of work completed, including reviewing and confirming time and materials tickets. Ensure all activities are documented according to company standards and in compliance with applicable regulations.
