Job summary

MPI is seeking a Commercial Superintendent for its Los Angeles operation to lead day-to-day field operations on ground-up and complex projects. You will manage subcontractors, coordinate schedules, and ensure safety and quality on site.

The role requires 5+ years in commercial construction, ability to read plans and shop drawings, and strong leadership and communication skills. Ground-up experience is highly desirable as the firm expands its LA presence.

• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods
• Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades
• Strong understanding of construction schedules and sequencing

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily field operations

• Manage project sequencing and maintain the construction schedule
• Conduct daily huddles and subcontractor coordination meetings
• Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and construction documents

Job Description

The Superintendent will be responsible for leading all day-to-day field operations and ensuring assigned projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to project plans and specifications.

Key responsibilities include:

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be an experienced Commercial Superintendent with a strong understanding of construction means and methods and the leadership skills necessary to effectively manage subcontractors and field operations.

• Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods

• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings
• Strong knowledge of quality control and jobsite safety
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to proactively identify and resolve field issues
• Experience with commercial, office, healthcare, life science, industrial, hospitality, entertainment, or similar projects
• Ground-up construction experience is highly desirable
• A proactive, accountable approach to managing field operations
• Desire to grow with a rapidly expanding organization

• Base salary up to $175k (depending on experience)
• $650/month vehicle allowance
• Bonus earning potential around 7% - 15% of base salary
