Brent Scarbrough & Co. (BSC) is seeking an experienced Superintendent to coordinate and supervise foremen, subcontractors, and crafts on large-scale Civil Site Development projects. HQ is in Newnan, GA with projects across the southeastern U.S., offering leadership opportunities and a professional, confidential environment.

The role emphasizes safety leadership, planning, and collaboration with design engineers, project partners, and field teams to ensure on-time, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent on-the-job training in construction fields.
• Eight years field experience with at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Experience with large self-perform grading and underground pipe projects preferred.
• Site development experience for private customers strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to safely execute large, complex site projects.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and project management tools at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Serve as site safety champion with support from safety professionals.
• Plan and implement materials, equipment, and inspections to support project schedule.
• Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability.
• Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and manage project schedules, including look-ahead schedules.
• Develop a site logistics plan and manage tools/equipment usage.
• Collaborate with partner superintendents and foremen.
• Lead pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings.
• Supervise craft teams and foremen; mentor senior staff.
• Manage hiring, transfers, and terminations of craft personnel.
• Ensure accurate timecard task coding and progress tracking.
• Maintain training, safety, quality, and compliance for the project team.
• Identify process improvements and mitigate unfavorable conditions.

Job description

Brent Scarbrough & Co. (BSC) is currently seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our team who can interact with various staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Aptitude to anticipate problems, critical issues, and opportunities as they arise; along with the capability to creatively solve problems and bring together viable solutions.

The Superintendent will be responsible for providing coordination, planning, and supervision to foremen, assistant superintendents, subcontractors, and craft workforce on large-scale, Civil Site Development projects. He or she will also develop and enhance customer relationships by providing excellent service.

Current Locations: HQ Office Location in Newnan, GA with project locations throughout the southeastern U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as site safety champion and leader with support from safety professionals
• Planning and implementation to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule
• Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability
• Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies
• Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules
• Develop a site logistics plan
• Manage the utilization of BSC tools and equipment
• Collaborate with project partner superintendents
• Conduct on-site project orientations and effective pre-construction planning sessions and site meetings
• Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews
• Mentor, manage, and evaluate Assistant Superintendents, General Foremen, and Foremen
• Interview, hire, transfer, and, if needed, terminate craft team members
• Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards
• Manage and track work progress and craft productivity
• Ensure craft team member training is current prior to starting tasks
• Conduct career development discussions with foremen and craft team members
• Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members
• Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent On-the-Job Training experience
• Minimum eight years of field experience with at least two of those years in a supervisory role
• Experience with large self-perform grading and underground pipe projects preferred
• Preference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following markets: Data Centers, Commercial & Industrial, Renewable Energy, Residential
• Site Development for Private customers - experience strongly preferred
• Proven ability to safely execute large, complex site projects
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and manage multiple projects
• Possess a basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices
• Microsoft Office, Project, and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level
