Job summary

Cityscape Recruitment USA is seeking a seasoned Base Building Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-up commercial projects in the Northern Virginia area. You will oversee on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, and drive safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in superintendent roles on shell & base building projects, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex field operations with multiple trades.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on ground-up commercial construction projects.
• Proven experience delivering shell & base building projects.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and safety.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and coordinating complex field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities from project start through completion.
• Manage day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the project management team.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and coordinate project logistics.
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize schedule impacts.
• Maintain strong communication with project managers, owners, architects, and consultants.
• Foster a positive jobsite culture built on teamwork, accountability, and professionalism.
