Carlson Brothers is expanding its presence in the Northern VA/DC Metro market, delivering large scale commercial, public works and multi-family construction projects. We are looking for Field Superintendents that play an integral role in leading project sites and take responsibility for leading a field team.
The Field Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day field execution of the project. This includes coordinating subcontractors, managing site operations and ensuring the work is completed safely, on schedule and with a high level of quality. This role is for someone that is comfortable being a leader from start to finish. You will work closely with the Project Management staff, but the responsibility for how the project runs in the field resides with you.
You will lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through closeout, ensuring the jobsite is organized, efficient, and well planned. This includes coordinating subcontractors, managing short-term schedules, and maintaining steady progress toward project milestones. You will be expected to identify and address issues early, whether related to coordination, sequencing, or site logistics, and to keep the work moving without creating unnecessary disruption.
Safety is a core responsibility. You will enforce jobsite safety requirements, lead regular safety meetings, and maintain a clean and compliant work environment.
You will also be responsible for maintaining quality throughout the project and monitoring work as it is installed, coordinating inspections, and ensuring the finished product meets the plans and specifications.
Clear communication is essential. You will work with the Project Management team, participate in project meetings, and coordinate with inspectors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to keep the project on track.
Experience with fire & rescue facilities, civic buildings and multi-family is a plus but not a requirement.
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their work, maintains a high standard for jobsite organization, and is able to lead subcontractors with consistency and professionalism.
Carlson Brothers is a stable, growth-oriented contractor focused on delivering high-quality projects through disciplined execution and strong field leadership.
We value people who take ownership, follow through, and take pride in how their projects are run.
