Job summary

Contovo is seeking an experienced Superintendent for multifamily projects in Dallas, TX. You will lead field operations from mobilization through closeout with autonomy and report to the Field Operations Director.

The first project is a three-story, wood-frame multifamily building in Dallas. Responsibilities include directing daily site activity, coordinating subs and inspectors, maintaining schedules and safety, and supporting the PM with RFIs, submittals, and budget tracking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a Superintendent with a general contractor.
• Track record delivering ground-up commercial and/or multifamily projects, ideally wood frame.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and run projects independently.
• Confident reading construction drawings, specs and schedules.
• Strong organization, communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and direct daily jobsite activity from mobilization to punch list and closeout.
• Schedule and supervise subcontractors and suppliers to meet schedule, quality and scope.
• Build and maintain project schedule, spot delays early and implement recovery plans.
• Coordinate with inspectors, authorities, utilities, architects, engineers and owner's reps.
• Raise field issues early and keep leadership informed on status and risk.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, inspection records and project docs.
• Enforce safety programs and OSHA standards; run safety meetings and inspections.
• Manage quality control and lead punch list through turnover.
• Support PM on RFIs, submittals, change orders, budget tracking and owner comms.

We are partnered with a well-established, Dallas-headquartered commercial general contractor to hire an experienced Superintendent.

The company

This full-service general contractor handles design-build, ground-up construction, shell buildings, renovations and tenant finish-outs. Most of its work comes from repeat and referral clients. The firm is known for long-tenured field leadership, a collaborative team, and investing in its people for the long term.

The opportunity

You'll run field operations on assigned projects from start to closeout. You'll work with a high degree of autonomy and report directly to the Field Operations Director.

The first project is a three-story, wood-frame multifamily build in Dallas. The broader portfolio covers retail, healthcare, office, public sector, multifamily and commercial work.

What you'll be doing

• Planning and directing daily jobsite activity from mobilization through punch list and closeout
• Scheduling and supervising subcontractors and suppliers so work meets schedule, quality and contract scope
• Building and maintaining the project schedule, spotting delays early and putting recovery plans in place
• Coordinating with inspectors, municipal authorities, utility providers, architects, engineers and owner's reps
• Raising field issues early and keeping leadership informed on project status and risk
• Keeping accurate daily reports, logs, inspection records and project documentation
• Enforcing the company safety program and OSHA standards, and running regular safety meetings and site inspections
• Managing quality control and leading the punch list through to final turnover
• Supporting the Project Manager on RFIs, submittals, change orders, budget tracking and owner communication

What you'll bring

• 5+ years as a Superintendent with a general contractor
• A track record delivering ground-up commercial and/or multifamily projects - ideally wood frame experience
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and run projects on your own
• Confidence reading construction drawings, specifications and schedules
• Strong organization, communication and documentation skills
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Authorization to work in the United States
