We are actively seeking a Traveling Superintendent with strong ground-up construction experience to lead large-scale big box and large format retail projects nationwide. This is a hands‑on, field-focused leadership role responsible for driving schedule, quality, and safety from mobilization through final turnover.

Position Overview

The Traveling Superintendent will oversee all on‑site operations for ground‑up warehouse‑style and big box retail developments. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage fast‑paced, schedule-driven projects while coordinating multiple trades and maintaining strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all field operations for ground‑up big box and large format retail projects from start to closeout
• Oversee sitework, earthwork, utilities, foundations, concrete, structural steel, tilt‑wall panels, roofing, and full interior build‑outs
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel to maintain production and sequencing
• Drive and enforce jobsite safety in compliance with OSHA and company standards
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, daily reports, and field documentation
• Conduct subcontractor coordination meetings, site walks, and progress meetings
• Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, and scopes of work to ensure accurate execution
• Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid schedule impacts
• Manage inspections, punch list completion, and final project turnover

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Superintendent leading ground‑up big box or large format retail construction
• Demonstrated success delivering fast‑paced, schedule-critical ground‑up projects
• Strong working knowledge of site development, foundations, concrete, steel erection, tilt‑wall systems, roofing, and interior finishes
• Experience working with and coordinating multiple subcontractors under a General Contractor structure
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities
• Proficiency with construction scheduling software and field reporting systems
