The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and specifications. The Superintendent will be the key liaison between the project management team and field crews, and coordinate with subcontractors and vendors. They will ensure the timely execution of project tasks within budget while maintaining high-quality workmanship. This role involves firsthand supervision, effective problem solving and fostering a productive team environment.
Construction job sites are located throughout NYS (with rare exceptions). Job sites are regularly within 1 hour of Albany, NY and occasionally more than 90 minutes from Albany. When job sites are located more than 90 minutes from Albany, NY, superintendents stay overnight near the job site during the work week. The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of the those an employee encounters while performing the duties of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; stand; walk; climb stairs/ladders or to balance; especially to navigate active construction sites and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly works on-site at construction job-sites is exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment; uneven terrain; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, airborne particles, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
