Job summary

Tricon Residential seeks an on-the-road Superintendent to create and manage rehabilitation and turnover plans for vacant homes within a designated portfolio.

You will lead in-house technicians and external vendors, verify quality, and report progress to senior leadership. The role requires a valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel between sites with a company van provided.

Qualifications

Our development programs are also delivering thousands of new rental homes and apartments as part of our commitment to help solve the housing supply shortage.Job DescriptionThe Superintendent is responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing project plans and schedules for all vacant homes within a designated portfolio. This role involves overseeing both in-house technicians and external vendors, resolving project issues, and ensuring quality control for all rehabilitation and turn projects. The Superintendent reports progress and issues to senior management, mentors team members, and ensures that all projects meet company standards.This position is provided a van that goes home with the employee nightly. Valid drivers license required!Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein. Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.Create, maintain, and manage project plans and schedules for rehabilitation and turn work for all vacant homes in designated portfolioAnticipate and resolve project issues and schedule difficulties, escalating when necessaryDirect and oversee the work performed by both in house technicians and external vendor resourcesMaintain accurate and current records of all rehabilitation and turn projectsActively report project issues, delays, status updates and completion to Senior SupervisorProactively participate (with current and accurate information) in weekly status meetingsDevelop scope of work project plans for rehabilitation projectsDevelop scope of work project plans for all turnsMentor and inspire direct reports by setting expectations, consistent communication, and one-on-one developmentAct with integrity and demonstrate support for Tricon's values and employeesConduct quality control inspections on all field work in progressComplete initial close out for all turn and rehabilitation projects ensuring that they meet Tricon quality standardsQualifications:Takes ownership of work product and delivers within tight deadlinesAbility to work well under pressure, self-manage, and set an example for othersExperience managing complex projects through to successful completionTrack record of building respectful relationships with both internal and external team members, vendors, direct reports, leadership, etcPassionate problem solver who is proactive, reliable, and resourcefulTrack record of fostering a collaborative team environmentMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalencyExcellent Communicator, both verbal and writtenUnrelenting attention to detail with an eye for accuracy and consistencyAbility to build effective relationships with a wide range of peopleStrong presentation skillsPreferred Attributes:Knowledge of Yardi accounting platform a major plusPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, including:Frequently required to sit, talk, and hear.Regularly required to stand and move; use hands to grasp, squeeze, finger, handle, and feel; reach, push, and pull with hands and arms; twist; reach overhead; stoop, kneel, squat, bend, and crouch.Regularly required to climb and descend stairs and ladders.Regularly lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.If driving a company-provided vehicle: coordinate hands and feet, incorporating vision and hearing, to drive safely.At Tricon, we are committed to creating a workplace where every individual is valued for their unique contributions, experiences, voices, and backgrounds.
