Job summary

Ryan Companies seeks a Superintendent to coordinate work of Ryan employees, subcontractors and project management on the jobsite to deliver projects on time and on budget.

This role enforces safety programs, manages personnel, and ensures budget control while collaborating with foremen, superintendents, and project managers across all project scopes. Verified eligibility to work in the U.S. is required.

Qualifications

  • Post high school education or equivalent in the construction field is required.
  • Proven ability to read and comprehend blueprints and plans.
  • Strong meeting management and team-building skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and seek help when needed.
  • Documentation/file management skills and regular progress meetings are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a site-specific safety program and administer project safety per Ryan policies.
  • Manage subcontractors in performance of their work per contract.
  • Develop and track a CPM schedule and monitor progress.
  • Assist in developing and reviewing the project budget and manage within it.
  • Assist with material procurement and maintain quality control program.
  • Perform daily documentation and file/print management tasks.
  • Hold, prepare, and document required meetings.

Job Description:

The Superintendent is responsible for the coordination of the work of all Ryan employees, subcontractors and project management on the jobsite for completion on time and on budget. This position enforces safety programs while managing and training personnel; understands and controlling project budget. Works with trades foremen, superintendent and project management of all scopes of the project; owners and/or tenants.

Some things you can expect to do:
  • Develop a site-specific safety program and administer project safety per Ryan safety policies and procedures and develop a job specific Job Safety/Hazard Analysis.
  • Manage subcontractors in the performance of their work per contract.
  • Develop and understand a CPM computer-generated schedule and be able to track that schedule.
  • Assist in the development and review of the overall construction budget and manage the project within that budget.
  • Assist with material procurement.
  • Establish and monitor the Quality Control program for the project.
  • Daily documentation and file and print management.
  • Hold, prepare, and document required meetings.

Candidate Qualifications:
  • Post high school education or equivalent in the construction field.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and subsequent random and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
  • Documentation / file management.
  • Must be able to remain calm during stressful situations and work through any challenges or issues which may arise.
  • Must be able to know when to ask for help when a job task exceeds their skills or abilities.
  • Meeting management skills.
  • Team player with team building skills.
  • Require moderate support from Field Coordinator.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and plans and specifications and give proper direction to project personnel.
