Metric Geo is seeking an experienced Superintendent for our Midtown Manhattan projects. The role centers on leading day-to-day field operations, delivering safe, on-time, high-quality commercial interior builds while coordinating trades and maintaining site discipline.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in NYC construction, with a proven superintendent track record and strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of NYC construction experience.
• Strong commercial interiors experience required.
• Proven superintendent/assistant superintendent track record.
• Experience in occupied/logistically challenging NYC environments preferred.
• Deep knowledge of NYC codes and site logistics.
• Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Experience with project documentation and daily reports.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day field operations, ensuring safety, schedule, and quality.
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, and site personnel.
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, logistics, and short-term planning; monitor progress.
• Work with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subs.
• Lead site meetings and maintain clear project communications.
• Monitor quality control and ensure work conforms to drawings and specs.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite.
• Identify schedule or construction issues and drive solutions.
• Manage inspections, punch lists, turnover, and closeout.

Base Salary: Up to $160,000 + Performance Bonus

A highly regarded New York City General Contractor and previous ENR Contractor of the Year is looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its team in Midtown Manhattan.

This is an opportunity to join an established contractor with a strong reputation across the NYC market, delivering high-quality and complex commercial interior projects for leading clients.

The Role

The Superintendent will take ownership of day-to-day field operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to a high standard of quality.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage all day-to-day site operations from mobilization through closeout
• Coordinate subcontractors, trades, vendors, and site personnel
• Manage project schedules, sequencing, logistics, and short-term planning
• Work closely with Project Managers, clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
• Lead site meetings and maintain clear communication across the project team
• Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional jobsite
• Identify potential schedule or construction issues and proactively drive solutions
• Manage inspections, punch lists, turnover, and project closeout
• Maintain project documentation, daily reports, and site records

Experience Required

• 5+ years of construction experience in New York City
• Strong commercial interiors experience is required
• Proven experience managing projects as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
• Experience delivering projects in occupied and/or logistically challenging NYC environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of NYC construction practices, building codes, safety requirements, and site logistics
• Ability to effectively manage subcontractors and multiple trades
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work closely with both field and project management teams
• Base salary up to $160,000
