Job summary

Nationwide Shotcrete, Inc. is seeking a full-time Superintendent based on-site in Austin, TX. You will oversee daily field operations for shotcrete and prepwork, coordinating crews, equipment, and materials to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Role Description

The Superintendent role is a full-time, on-site position based in Austin, TX. The Superintendent oversees daily field operations for shotcrete and prepwork projects, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating crews, equipment, and materials. This role manages on-site activities to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and union requirements. The Superintendent conducts site inspections, resolves job-site issues, communicates with project managers, general contractors, and inspectors, and maintains accurate documentation and reports. The position also includes enforcing safety protocols, leading toolbox talks, mentoring field personnel, and supporting quality control for structural walls and seismic retrofit work.

• Candidates should possess skills in field supervision, crew coordination, and daily job-site management for concrete or shotcrete projects.
• Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and structural details, including formwork and seismic retrofit requirements.
• Candidates should possess skills in scheduling, resource planning, and organizing equipment and materials to support efficient project execution.
• Candidates should possess skills in enforcing safety standards, conducting safety meetings, and promoting a culture of safe work practices.
• Candidates should possess skills in communication and collaboration with project managers, general contractors, inspectors, and union representatives.
• Candidates should possess skills in problem-solving, decision-making, and handling changing site conditions while maintaining project quality.
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Foreperson, or similar role in concrete, shotcrete, or structural construction is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of local building codes, OSHA regulations, and union work rules is beneficial.
• Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and to perform regular site walks and inspections.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or construction management education is a plus.
