Job summary

StoneTree Golf Club in Killeen, Texas is seeking a full-time Superintendent to oversee maintenance and construction of an 18 or 27 hole golf course with revenue between $2 and $3.5 million, ensuring turf grass is repaired and maintained to established standards.

The role requires an AA degree or equivalent, a pesticide license, and a valid driver’s license, with experience in agronomy or related fields. Will supervise a team and manage budgets and compliance.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or three to four years related experience.
• Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or soil science.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Pesticide Application License required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the annual golf course maintenance budget and capital plans.
• Plan, organize, and direct maintenance and construction of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers.
• Supervise planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees, and ornamental plants.
• Ensure maintenance equipment is properly maintained.
• Procure supplies and materials within budgetary limitations.
• Keep records of annual maintenance activities and costs and prepare reports.
• Implement sound purchasing procedures utilizing preferred vendors when possible.
• Reconcile and provide timely coding of invoices, payroll, and other required documents.
• Coordinate snow removal depending upon facility location.
• Ensure policies and regulations are followed and licenses obtained for safety and environmental compliance.

StoneTree Golf Club in Killeen, Texas is seeking a full-time Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and construction of an 18 or 27 hole golf course with $2 to $3.5 million in revenue and to ensure turf grass is repaired and maintained to established standards.

Experience Required

• Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or three to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Degree preference in agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or soil science.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Pesticide Application License required.
• Ability to read and speak English is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be able to regularly stand, walk, and sit; use hands; reach with arms and hands; and talk or hear.
• Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, crawls, tastes, or smells.
• Regularly lifts up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds.
• Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes, and/or airborne particles.
• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.

• Ensure all company policies and procedures are followed, including compliance with government regulations.
• Ensure proper training and/or licenses are obtained to perform job tasks safely and within city, state, and federal regulations, and address environmental concerns.
• Ensure proper mixing, calibration, and application of all chemicals and fertilizers used on the course.
• Manage department team members including roles such as Assistant Superintendent, 2nd Assistant Superintendent, Head Mechanic, Environmental Technician, Equipment Operator, Foreman, Greenskeeper, and Irrigation Technician.
• Provide effective orientation and training to new associates and develop ongoing training programs.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
