About the Construction Company / The Opportunity:

This opportunity places you at the center of field operations, where your leadership will help ensure safe, high-quality, schedule-driven project delivery. As Superintendent, you will lead subcontractors and self-performed workforces while fostering a professional, collaborative, and solutions-focused job-site environment in Jacksonville.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily field operations to achieve project milestones and overall schedule completion.
- Create and maintain short-interval, two-week look-ahead schedules to communicate and track upcoming work.
- Promote a job-site culture focused on safety, health, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate subcontractors, self-performed activities, inspections, layout, and dimensional controls.
- Verify that work is installed in a professional manner and complies with plans, specifications, and project standards.
- Identify potential issues proactively, facilitate solutions, and minimize delays, rework, and conflict.
- Lead project meetings, maintain daily field documentation, and communicate progress with internal teams and project partners.
- Manage scope changes, punch lists, closeout activities, supporting staff, and project work within established budgets.
Must-Have Skills:
- 2-5+ years of progressive experience supervising construction projects in a fast-paced environment.
- At least 2 years of construction industry experience, preferably with commercial or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of construction means and methods for commercial construction and renovations.
- Ability to lead subcontractors and manage a small self-performed workforce.
- Strong understanding of project plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders, and scope requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, field reporting, scheduling, and construction management software.
- Current OSHA certification and CPR/Life Safety credentials; CQM-C certification or the ability to obtain it.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with ground-up commercial construction and renovation projects.
- Background delivering retail, office, federal, educational, healthcare, or historic projects.
- Experience coordinating third-party survey, layout, and inspection personnel.
- Knowledge of quality-control documentation, project closeout, and punch-list management.
- Experience training, mentoring, and developing field staff and subcontractor teams.
- Strong conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and proactive communication skills.
