Job summary

Talently, a Chicago-area construction company, is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to lead field operations from mobilization through turnover.

You will coordinate trades, review drawings, ensure safety and quality, and keep project managers updated with daily reports.

The role requires experience in commercial construction, strong leadership, and willingness to travel to multiple sites in the Chicago metro.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong OSHA and safety knowledge.
• Proven leadership and communication skills to manage multiple trades.
• Capable of coordinating multiple subcontractors and activities.
• Willingness to travel to jobsites across the Chicago metropolitan area.

As Superintendent, you will play a central role in guiding projects from mobilization through final turnover while collaborating with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.

Must-Have Skills

• Previous experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, and field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of OSHA and construction safety requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors, priorities, and project activities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with construction management software.
• Project experience in office buildings, retail, restaurants, healthcare, hospitality, multifamily, industrial, education, schools, K-12, or church facilities.
• Experience with tenant improvements, ground-up construction, renovations, or interior build-outs.
• Experience identifying change-order issues and supporting project documentation.Background managing commercial construction projects from mobilization through closeout.
