Job summary

Roadway Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil projects. This role focuses on delivering safe, on-schedule work within budget, while meeting contract requirements and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will manage on-site activities, coordinate crews and subcontractors, and collaborate with Project Managers to maintain schedules and control costs. A strong leadership mindset and OSHA 30 certification are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years as Foreman and/or 2 years as Superintendent in Roadway Construction, Underground Utility, and Earthwork Industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction principles and procedures.
  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond to adverse situations.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Available to work flexible hours.
  • OSHA 30 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for drainage, utilities, earthwork, grading, and roadway construction.
  • Ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget while complying with plans and specifications.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and maintain the project schedule and sequencing plan.
  • Coordinate daily activities of crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, staging areas, and temporary utilities.
  • Drive production and monitor performance against project schedules and productivity targets.
  • Identify design deficiencies, constructability issues, and conflicts; communicate to Project Manager.
  • Ensure all work complies with FDOT standards and regulatory requirements; enforce OSHA and safety policies.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures.
  • Review daily production reports, labor, equipment, and material usage.
  • Assist in controlling project costs and identifying efficiency opportunities.
  • Review and approve T&M work and invoices.
  • Maintain relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Lead or participate in weekly coordination and safety meetings.

Job description

Roadway Construction, LLC is an established civil and highway general contractor based in Miami. We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil construction projects.

This role is responsible for the overall execution of field activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who takes ownership, drives production, and maintains excellent relationships with project stakeholders.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for projects involving drainage, utilities (water/sewer), earthwork, grading, and roadway construction
  • Ensure work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with plans and specifications
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and maintain the project schedule and sequencing plan
  • Coordinate daily activities of crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, staging areas, and temporary utilities
  • Drive production and monitor performance against project schedules and productivity targets
  • Identify design deficiencies, constructability issues, and potential conflicts, and communicate them to the Project Manager
  • Ensure all work complies with FDOT standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Enforce all OSHA and company safety policies, including trench safety requirements
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure work meets required standards
  • Review and monitor daily production reports, labor, equipment, and material usage
  • Assist in controlling project costs and identifying areas for improved efficiency
  • Review and approve time and material (T&M) work and invoices
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors
  • Lead or participate in weekly coordination meetings and safety meetings
Job Requirements
  • Must have a minimum of 3-year experience as a Foreman and/or 2-year experience as a Superintendentin the Roadway Construction, Underground Utility, and Earthwork Industry.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction principles and procedures.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks; Possess a meticulous attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong ability to anticipate, recognize and respond to adverse situations.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours.
  • OSHA 30 certification
