About the Construction Company / The Opportunity:
Join a growing construction organization delivering high-quality commercial, specialty retail, and other complex projects throughout the Dallas market. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Superintendent who can lead field operations, coordinate trade partners, maintain rigorous safety standards, and support projects from design through completion. You will play a hands-on role in delivering projects that meet client expectations, technical specifications, timelines, and budgets.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, schedule, and deliver commercial construction projects across various site locations.
- Read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents to establish construction requirements and procedures.
- Inspect work progress, equipment, and job sites to verify quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
- Use Microsoft Project to track schedules, monitor progress, allocate resources, and coordinate personnel.
- Use Microsoft Excel to prepare cost estimates, work timetables, strategic plans, and project reports.
- Oversee purchasing and coordinate materials, subcontractors, equipment, and site resources.
- Perform and oversee framing, drywall, millwork, trim, and carpentry activities.
- Supervise a team of approximately eight construction workers while consulting with clients during the design and construction phases.
Must-Have Skills:
- At least 2 years of related commercial construction experience.
- Experience supervising commercial, specialty retail, or ground-up construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and technical documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, coordination, site inspections, and project delivery.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel for scheduling, estimating, planning, and reporting.
- Hands‑on knowledge of framing, drywall, millwork, trim, and carpentry.
- Ability to supervise field teams, coordinate resources, and communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders.
- General OSHA Overview Certification covering workplace safety, hazard communication, hazardous materials, cranes and rigging, electrical safety, fall protection, personal protective equipment, hand and power tools, scaffolds, stairways, and ladders.
- Ability to travel to various construction sites within Dallas, Texas.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with retail, QSR, restaurant, church, bar, office building, or gas station construction.
- Background managing high‑end public, commercial, and residential projects.
- Experience with ground‑up construction and complex multi‑trade projects.
- Knowledge of construction cost estimation, purchasing, and resource allocation.
- Experience consulting with clients during design development and project execution.
- Additional OSHA, construction safety, or trade‑related certifications.
