Job summary

BrightView is seeking a BVG Field Superintendent in Columbus, OH to manage field operations and projects from inception to completion for commercial site development. You will lead multiple projects, own sourcing and hiring field staff, and serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors.

The role requires reading site documents, blueprints, and understanding construction processes. You will work outdoors in varying weather, coordinate with vendors and crews, attend jobsite

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in commercial landscape installation.
• Knowledge of heavy iron equipment.
• Able to read and understand blueprints and specs.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in equipment operating and maintenance.
• Must have a valid driver license.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage field operations for commercial site development projects form inception through completion.
• Help manage multiple projects
• Ownership of sourcing and hiring field staff

Education and Experience:

• Have knowledge of heavy iron equipment
• Knowledge of OSHA Standards
• Able to read and understand blueprints and specs

Physical Demands/Requirements:

• Possess strong stamina and have the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
• Able to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day
• You are able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (e.g., safety shoes, high-visibility clothing, hand protection, eye protection, hearing protection, head protection)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.
• Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work outdoors/indoors in moderate to extreme weather conditions (e.g., temperatures more than 100°F, temperatures below 32°F, various levels of humidity)
• Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
• Work outdoors near automotive traffic, bodies of water, fumes, dust, mechanical and/or electrical hazards.
• Ability to work in environments where extended periods of loud noise are present.
• Ability to work in environments where exposure to allergens such as pollen and rag weed, insects such as bees and spiders and reptiles such as lizards and snakes.

Compensation Pay Range:

$85,000-$95,000/year depending on experience
