Job summary

Harris Health in Houston is seeking a Medical Technologist to perform routine and high-complexity diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens, validate results, and report findings. You will perform and document Quality Control, maintain reagents, and participate in continuing education.

Minimum qualifications include a B.S. in Medical Technology or related science (or an Associate’s with ASCP MT certification) and flexibility to travel between HCHD facilities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Medical Technology or related science, or associate degree with ASCP MT certification.
  • ASCP MT certification required; MLS/medical tech credentials considered.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and QC procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and high complexity diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens.
  • Validates and reports results of tests performed.
  • Performs and documents Quality Control.
  • Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies.
  • Participates in continuing education.

Performs a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Performs high complexity testing according to established procedures. Validates and report results of tests performed. Performs and documents Quality Control. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures. Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies. Participates in continuing education.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) OR Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training Program. OR

Associates Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science WITH ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist ' MT (ASCP)

Equipment Operated: PC, printers, scanners.

Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contract), Writing /Composing, (Correspondence / Reports)
