Job summary

Harris Health seeks a skilled Medical Technologist to join our diagnostic laboratory. You will perform routine and high complexity testing on clinical specimens, validate results, and report findings with strict quality control in a busy hospital lab.

Requirements include a B.S. in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP MT(ASCP) certification (or equivalent), and travel between HCHD facilities. Proficiency with MS Office and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science or MT training certificate.
  • ASCP certification as Medical Technologist MT(ASCP) preferred or equivalent.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and high complexity diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens.
  • Validates and reports results of tests performed.
  • Maintains quality control and instrument maintenance.
  • Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies; participates in continuing education.

Job Summary

Performs a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens for use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Performs high complexity testing according to established procedures. Validates and report results of tests performed. Performs and documents Quality Control. Performs instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures. Maintains adequate stock of reagents and supplies. Participates in continuing education.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: B.S.Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training program OR
  • Associate Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science WITH ASCP Certification as Medical Technologist MT(ASCP)
  • Equipment Operated: PC, printers, scanners
Special Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
  • Writing /Composing (Correspondence/Reports)
Other Skills
  • Analytical, CRT, Medical Terms, Research, Statistical, P.C., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
  • Advance Training/Specialty: Certification by approved certification agencies, i.e., ASCP, NCA, AMT is preferred.
  • Other Requirements: Travel between HCHD facilities.
