Job summary

The City of Belton is seeking a part-time lifeguard to supervise pool activities, enforce safety rules, and assist pool participants with a cheerful, professional attitude. You will respond to emergencies, perform rescues, CPR/First Aid, and maintain pool area standards while serving as a friendly ambassador for Belton Parks & Recreation.

The role requires Lifeguard certification with CPR/AED and Bloodborne Pathogens training, with shifts that fit 10–28 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification with CPR/AED for professional rescuers and First Aid.
• Bloodborne pathogens training required or completed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of swimmers by enforcing rules and regulations.
• Warn swimmers of improper activities or hazards.
• Rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning; provide rescue breathing, CPR and First Aid.
• Notify the Head Lifeguard or Lead Lifeguard of accidents, rescues or problems.
• Maintain equipment and report repairs to the Head Lifeguard or Aquatic Manager.
• Assist in keeping the facility clean and organized; serve as ambassador when engaging with the public.
• Attend monthly in-service trainings and support locker room custodial needs.
