Job summary

City of Belton, MO is seeking a part-time lifeguard to supervise the pool area, enforce safety rules, and provide excellent customer service at the Belton Parks & Recreation/High Blue Wellness Center.

The role requires ARC Lifeguard certification with CPR/AED and First Aid, plus Bloodborne Pathogens training. Expect 10–28 hours per week with a friendly, professional public-facing presence.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard certification with CPR/AED and First Aid from the American Red Cross.
• Bloodborne pathogens training as required for aquatic staff.
• Ability to work 10–28 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimmers and enforce pool rules for safety.
• Warn participants about hazards and improper activities.
• Perform rescues and provide CPR and first aid as needed.
• Report incidents, rescues, or equipment issues to supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of pool deck and locker rooms.
• Be an ambassador for Belton Parks & Recreation/High Blue Wellness Center.
• Communicate professionally with the public and staff.
• Attend monthly in-service trainings.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of pool and related areas.
