Job summary

The City of Bryan is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to monitor pool activities and respond to aquatic emergencies. This seasonal position offers flexible hours roughly 15-20 per week and a pay rate of $12.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include supervising swimmers, enforcing facility rules, performing water rescues, providing first aid/CPR when needed, and delivering courteous customer service. Applicants must be at least 16 and eligible for Lifeguard certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Lifeguard certification or ability to obtain within department time frame.
• Excellent swimming skills and rescue techniques.
• Ability to maintain fitness level for duties (swimming, endurance).
• Strong observation and emergency response skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pool areas as assigned and maintain continuous surveillance.
• Enforce rules and educate patrons about safety.
• Respond to emergencies with water rescues and first aid/CPR as needed.
• Coordinate with other lifeguards and staff for assistance.
• Provide excellent customer service to patrons.
• Complete inspections and reports and submit them to the proper office.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility.
• Attend mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
