Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Supplemental Registered Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacy operations at Ben Taub Hospital, with a schedule of every other Sunday. Under supervision, you’ll assist pharmacists with preparing and distributing prescribed medications while upholding patient safety and accuracy.

Responsibilities include medication preparation, unit-dose packaging, inventory management, and supporting clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration as Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacist Intern license.
• IV Certification preferred.
• Medication preparation and distribution, math, medical terminology, computer proficiency, typing, and attention to detail.
• Part-time position; every other Sunday; weekends/holidays; flexible schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare medications for dispensing and unit-dose packaging.
• Count tablets, reconstitute medications, prepare oral syringes, and repackage as needed.
• Maintain inventory and replenish automated dispensing cabinets.
• Deliver medications to patient care units and support pharmacy operations.
• Handle clerical tasks: phones, stocking, cash collection, filing, and data entry.
