Job summary

Latino Network is seeking a SUN Schools Program and Garden Support Specialist in Portland, OR. You will coordinate logistics, planning, and staffing for SUN CS activities and support extended day learning with a focus on garden education.

You will assist with data entry, on-site coverage, purchasing supplies, and celebrations to ensure a positive experience for families and students. The role requires bilingual Spanish communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends, and the ability to travel

Qualifications

• Bilingual preferred: strong oral and written Spanish communication.
• Experience organizing events including outreach and enrollment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of SUN CS services and community education equity.
• Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the community.

Responsibilities

• Learn about Multnomah County SUN Service System for families seeking resources.
• Shadow and support SUN sites through family engagement activities.
• Substitute as a garden instructor as needed.
• Engage in mandatory team meetings at a site or with the SUN CS team.
• Participate in the department’s Outdoor/Gardening committee.
• Take part in the team’s fundraising events.
• Enter data and documentation using SUN CS’s database, GroupTrail.
• Participate in outreach events for SUN CS programs.
