Job summary

Latino Network is seeking a part-time Soccer Coach to support SUN Community School programs after school. Working with the SUN Site Manager, you will lead soccer drills and promote good sportsmanship for students aged 6–14 in Portland, Oregon.

You will track student groups, support educational equity, and serve as a positive role model while maintaining a safe environment. Evening and weekend shifts may be required to align with program activities.

Qualifications

• Experience playing and practicing soccer; understanding the rules and regulations.
• Experience working with school-aged children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
• Desire and ability to work with children to ensure an enriching, positive, and safe classroom setting.
• Experience developing and effectively executing plans for the day to a diversity of students.
• Ability to document work continually and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Possess strong organizational and time-management skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks.
• Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures.
• Willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Latino Network.

Position Title: Soccer Coach

Reports To: SUN Community School Site Manager

Classification: Part-time, Non-Exempt, Temporary

Compensation: $18 per hour

ADDITIONAL ADMINISTRATIVE AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Regularly work in the school, and in the community as needed, including client homes, schools, churches, parks, community centers, etc
• Evening and weekend availability may be required, and work hours are flexible to accommodate program implementation; long hours during peak periods
• Reliable car, driver’s license, and automobile liability insurance; must be eligible to be an insured driver under Latino Network’s Commercial Auto Liability
• May require heavy lifting and walking during events and outreach activities
• Undergoing criminal and passing background check including fingerprinting is required
