Los Angeles LGBT Center in Los Angeles, CA seeks interns for the Youth Service – Workforce Development program. The internship offers hands-on exposure in our Youth Center, including work readiness, financial literacy, skills development, career coaching and mentoring, with placements in the commercial kitchen, front desk, and community partner sites.

The Youth Center serves youth up to the age of 24 who are currently at-risk of or experiencing homelessness. The Youth Center offers services in an LGBTQ+ safe and affirming environment and serves as an entry point to assist youth making the transition from homelessness to housing. Our services include meals, clothing, support groups, a charter high school, GED and college prep program, an employment preparation, training and placement program, case management, counseling, a crisis shelter and a transitional living program (TLP). Our community-based programs include services for youth at-home, in school or in systems of care.
Our internship program aims to prepare individuals for the workforce by providing work readiness, financial literacy, skills development, career coaching, and mentoring. Internship placements range from working onsite in our amazing commercial kitchen (Culinary Arts Program), to working the front desk at our Youth Center drop-in space, and we offer offsite placements with community partners like OUAI cosmetics, LA DogWorks, Growing Hope Gardens, The Center at Blessed Sacrament, amongst many others.
