Job summary

New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark seeks a Program Assistant - TS to support TRiO program logistics and ensure objectives are met.

The role coordinates on-campus activities for the Summer Youth Employment Training Program, manages TA/Tutor/Mentor schedules, arranges field trips, maintains files, and assists with evaluation data and onboarding of staff. Part-time, non-exempt, on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combinations considered
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
• Strong organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the on-campus functions of the Summer Youth Employment Training Program (SYETP).
• Coordinate the TA/Tutor/Mentor Schedule and act as liaison between the TAs/Tutors/Mentors/Instructors and the Program Director.
• Assist the Director and staff with planning and organizing the summer program including coordinating field trips, reserving classrooms and special event rooms.
• Distribute and account for student supplies, instructor supplies and student bus tickets.
• Develop and maintain all appropriate summer files pertaining to program services and activities, including but not limited to attendance records, supply inventory.
• Assist with planning and implementing the formal summer training program.
• Assist with the onboarding process for summer staff.
• Update evaluations, distribute, collect and report data from evaluation results.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Director.
• Assist with monitoring and escorting students.
