Job summary

MISO invites students pursuing Electrical, Software, or Mechanical Engineering to join the 2027 Summer Internship Program in Carmel, IN. As a Systems Engineering Intern you’ll translate complex problems into clear requirements and models, collaborate with product teams and operators, and help craft interface definitions that support real product work.

The program runs June 2–August 13, 2027, with on-site work around 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Electrical, Software, Mechanical or related engineering degrees.
• Strong teamwork and problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to learn systems thinking and grid operations.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex engineering problems into clear requirements, models, or design decisions.
• Collaborate with product teams, architects, and operators to clarify questions and align solutions.
• Create system models, requirements, and interface definitions for projects.
• Attend intern events and development activities to grow professionally.
• Deliver final project presentation with recommendations and impact.
