Job summary

BWXT is offering a Summer Internship for a Supply Chain & Project Management Intern to support sourcing and procurement activities. The role involves managing supplier research, RFQs, and tracking procurement tasks, while analyzing performance data and maintaining project documentation.

The internship runs full-time for 10-12 weeks during Summer 2027, with on-site work in Oak Ridge, TN, Erwin, TN, or Jonesborough, TN.

Qualifications

Rising senior enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field.
Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data organization and presentation.
U.S. citizen and ability to obtain DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

Support sourcing activities by clarifying requirements, researching suppliers, preparing RFQ information, and organizing quote comparisons under guidance.
Assist with purchase requisition and purchase order tracking, supplier acknowledgments, delivery dates, invoices, and status reporting.
Analyze spend, pricing, lead time, and supplier-performance data; build Excel-based summaries and dashboards for the supply chain team.
Participate in supplier and cross-functional meetings; maintain logs and follow actions through to completion.
Coordinate a defined supply-chain improvement project using a project plan, milestones, and stakeholder updates.
