Job summary

Kiewit invites a motivated student to join the Supply Chain Network as a Summer Internship. You will gain hands-on experience across Estimating, Contracts, Quality, Purchasing, Logistics & Compliance, and Material Management, contributing to our construction operations.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment, developing core supply chain skills while traveling to multiple U.S. locations as needed. Strong communication, teamwork, and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Student pursuing SCM degree; interest in purchasing/procurement.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willing to travel and relocate as needed; able to work full‑time May–August.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors and other representatives
• Purchase the highest quality materials at the lowest possible cost in correct amounts per specifications and drawings
• Maintain and review records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories
• Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities and the supplier’s reputation
• Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and determine needs for changes
• Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services
• Design and present an End of Program Presentation to showcase your work and development throughout this internship
